When it comes to car servicing many of us have doubts about what type of service we need.  It gets even more confusing when words like ‘minor service’, ‘logbook service’, ‘major service’, and ‘general service’ start flying around.

Well, the good news is your car is in good hands. We, at Armstrong creek motors house, are the best mechanics who eat car problems for breakfast. Our car repair shop is well equipped to take good care of all your car maintenance needs.

But first, let’s understand the difference between general service and logbook service.

Logbook Service

A vehicle logbook is a guide provided by the vehicle manufacturer containing information on the specified or recommended service requirements.

A logbook service is when your car is serviced in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications. It involves checking and/or replacing certain components and fluids on the vehicle at the time intervals recommended by the manufacturer. It may involve-

-Changing engine oil & oil filter

-Brake inspection and adjustment

-Check steering and suspension

-40-point vehicle inspection

-Check and top up under bonnet fluid levels

-Computer battery test

-Check tire pressures

-Check radiator hoses

-Check fan belts

-Check lights

.

When do I need the Log book service?

For new cars, logbook servicing is usually required every 6 months or every 10,000 km, whichever comes first.

Bosch Car Service-Armstrong Creek Motors is authorized to provide logbook servicing, allowing you to skip the expense of going to your dealership while keeping your manufacturer’s warranty intact.

General Service-

A General Service or minor service involves the replacement of oil and oil filters. If the service falls outside the logbook service booklet a basic service is the initial starting point to keep your vehicle running smoothly.

General servicing usually involves a comprehensive check on

-fluids

-wipers and wiper blades

-tires

-lights

-indicators

-oil leaks

-battery

-suspension.

Which to choose?

You should choose logbook service if your car is under warranty and requires logbook servicing to validate this warranty.

However, if your car isn’t still covered by its warranty, then you may want to go for a General Service.
